Sixth Form

Year 12 and Year 13

Welcome to Post-16

Welcome to TWS Sixth Form. This is an exciting time for our students to move into the Post 16 holistic education, as it offers them the opportunity to not only advance academically but also develop their interpersonal skills by leading the community. Learning how to navigate to your aspirations and goals will enable your relationship with your teachers to become more of a partnership. We have designed an innovative Sixth Form curriculum that we believe is both inclusive and attractive to all our students seeking a broader, unique, and more flexible offer than that available elsewhere in Dubai. A student should focus on qualifications that maximize their chances of success and that will facilitate access to higher education and employment.

Our supportive learning environment will challenge you to reach your full potential. The transition from high school to college is quite challenging, and our team will work to ensure our students are set up properly for this journey into Years 12 and 13. In our Sixth Form, your learning environment will considerably change after you turn 16. There will be mutual respect and trust for both your teachers and your studies that you will learn.

Our broad and interdisciplinary Sixth Form program has been designed with you in mind. There are many opportunities for you to get involved with the arts, sports, debating, mentoring, and leadership among others. The determination of success goes beyond grades. While grades are important, contributing to wider school life will enable you to acquire valuable skills for the rest of your life. The goal is for our students to graduate from our school as happy, successful, world-ready young adults who have taken advantage of all that we have to offer them.

We offer a General Certificate of Education (GCE) at the Advanced level (A-Level) as a two-year program. The first year (Year 12) is the Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) and the second year (Year 13) is a continuation to complete the A-Level program. Entry into Year 12 is competitive and places are only given to students who achieve the required IGCSE grades for AS and A Level study. There is no automatic progression from Year 11 to Year 12. We provide a range of personalized pathways at Post-16, all leading to university entry.
